Hi I'm Lucy. I’ve always enjoyed visiting vineyards. I was lucky enough to live near Australia’s Yarra Valley for a few years and have also toured vineyards in California, South Africa and the Champagne region. My interest in British sparkling wine grew following the pandemic. The first mini-break my sister and I took was in Kent where we visited Gusbourne for a lunch, tour and tasting. We had a fabulous afternoon in a world-class vineyard setting and it made us want to see more. Since then we’ve been visiting vineyards and wineries at every opportunity, doing things as diverse as glamping to fine dining. We’ve enjoyed each vineyard we’ve visited for different reasons and every time we’ve told people about our trips they’re surprised and intrigued – that gave me the inspiration for ‘Best British Bubbly’. I also decided to increase my wine knowledge, achieving WSET Level 2 in Wines and have learnt the practical way too by doing some volunteering at vineyards.
